Oscar Nemon was born in Yugoslavia on 13 March 1906; he was educated at Osijek, before studying in Vienna [Austria], Brussels [Belgium] and Paris [France]. In 1939 Nemon went to Britain where he became famous for portraits such as those of Winston Churchill.
