JAB-27 JACKSON/THE STERN SOLDIER Silver #2
25mm - 2 or 3 struck by Bolen

Both dies were cut in 1867 and sold to J.W. Kline in 1872. They are currently in the ANS collection.

Bolen states he struck two medals in Silver. The AJN listing states three were struck. The Musante reference does not note any restrikes attributed to Kline. However, the January 2011 Stacks auction had both thin and thick examples. The auction record would indicate that the population is greater than just three pieces. Undoubtedly, Kline struck a limited number of examples in Silver.

The thick example sold by Stacks in January of 2011 sold for $920, while the thin piece brought $690, lots 6622 and 6623. More recently a NGC-62 example sold for $353 in a November 2015 Heritage auction, lot 4823.
