JAB-26 JEFFERSON MEDAL Brass 25mm - 14 struck by Bolen The dies were cut in 1867 and traded to Kline in 1872. They are currently in the ANS collection. Bolen struck 14 examples in Brass. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness. The reverse quote is from Jefferson's first inaugural address delivered on March 4, 1801 and summarizes his view on what the role of government and his administration ought to be. A NGC-62 piece was sold by CWTGUY on EBAY in April of 2014 for $376.

Bolen struck 14 examples in Brass. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness.
