K171, General Cardona - Sisyphos am Isonzo, 1916

Goetz is lampooning the alleged statement made by General Cardona that the battle losses at the Isonzo River were caused by the bad weather.

Obverse : Cardona bust right, wearing French military uniform and standing under an umbrella. Inscription: "Cardona, Italien Chief of Staff."

Reverse:: Sisyphus rolling stone uphill. Inscription: "Sisyphus at the Isonzo, 1915-16."
