JAB-32 General U.S. Grant Copper
25mm
14 struck by Bolen
The dies were cut in 1868 and sold to Kline in 1872. As of 2002, they were owned by Stacks.

Bolen struck 14 examples in Copper. Kline also struck a few examples in this metal. It is fairly easy to tell the restrikes from the originals. The originals are 2.2 to 3.0 mm thick. The restrikes are only 1.5 to 2.0 mm in thickness.

A thick Bolen original in Uncirculated condition sold for $489 in the January 2011 Stacks auction, lot 6639. Steve Hayden sold an uncirculated example overstruck on a HTT for $550 in his September 2010 sale.
