Mule JAB M/E-12 INIMICA TYRANNIS / DIE SINKER Copper
28mm - Unknown Number Struck

This piece is a mule of the Obverse of JAB 7 with the Reverse of JAB 5. The Die Sinker die was cut in 1863, the Inimica die in 1864. It is believed that the Inimica Tyrannis die was reacquired by Bolen and destroyed. The Die Sinker die is currently in the ANS collection.

The piece pictured is the only example in Copper that I am aware of. It was part of the Steve Tannenbaum collection sold by Hayden in August of 2015, lot 622. Earlier it was part of the John Ford and Virgil Brand collections and previously appeared in the Stacks 2006 sale.
