Nasceu em 1940 em Ponta Delgada, nos Açores. Fez o Curso Complementar de Escultura na Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto (ESBAP) e trabalhou no Atelier do Mestre Barata Feyo. Expōe desde 1961 é autor de numerosas medalhas e monumentos públicos.
