I have attempted to show on my medal the historical significance of the founding of two great civilizations. On the obverse I have depicted Romulus and Remus making the plan for the Eternal City of Rome and the founding of Roman civilization. On the reverse is shown Constantinius the Great, upon the apparition of the Holy Cross, with the legend, "in hoc signo vinces," establishing the principle of Christianity."
