The 1996 Cougar calendar is the result of a collaboration of the finest artisans in the country including designers, sculptors, and engravers. The manufacturing process is more of an art than a science. From the artists sculpture, rendered in clay, to the engraved dies which strike the medal, minting is an intricately involved process. The result is a high quality bronze calendar medal which has been beautifully designed, artfully sculpted and meticulously minted. This entire process is painstakingly performed for each calendar medal struck at Hoffman Mint where we match old world craftsmanship with advanced technology.

The scientific name is Felis concolor-cats all of one color. It is called a panther east of the Mississippi. Latin Americans call it el leon. The striking of the 1996 Cougar Medal is strictly limited to only 5000 pieces. Each medal is individually edge marked with the official hallmark of Hoffman Mint and a serial number. Now You Can Acquire A Lasting Tribute To The Powerful Cougar These medals are perfect for gifts, customer or employee appreciation or special events.
