JAB-37 George Clinton Fascimile Copper #3
28mm - 40 struck
Both dies were cut in 1869. They were defaced and donated to the Boston Numismatic Society. They are currently unaccounted for.

It is fairly easy to distinguish the Bolen copies from the originals. Bolen placed a dot within the O of George. On the reverse the tops of 787 in the date are level. On the original, the eight is higher than the sevens.

There were three uncirculated examples in the May 2006 Stacks sale of the Ford collection. Two sold for $1725, while the third realized $2990. More recently, Hayden sold an Ms-62 example for $950 in September 2010.
